Be Patient and Keep on Trusting

God said something sweet and dear to me today and I'd like to make a memo of it here:

Today's study is on Genesis chapter 42 where Joseph tested his brothers by sending them back with money and food to save the family in Canaan from famine while putting Simeon in custody in exchange of the youngest brother Benjamin. Jacob was heartrending on the news because every time his sons showed up with money, he was deemed to lose a son. And now it seems that he is on the verge of losing yet another.

Jacob despaired because ... he had forgotten the promises of God. He therefore concluded that, "All these things are against me." In reality God was casing all those things to work together for good for Jacob. He would soon realize God's blessing.

"A great portion of our present trouble arises from our not knowing the whole truth."

There really is nothing more comforting to a weary and sad heart like mine. What else can I do but praising and thanking Him? I want to be growing stronger in faith, yet as weak as I am, temptation and affliction are what I try to avoid. But the Lord is strong, and He Loves Me as who I truly am. That's why I can trust Him with everything.
